UNEEK x International Women's Day

For over 100 years, 8th March has been celebrated as International Women's Day to honor women and support their rights and achievements.

For the past 3 years, KEEN has been seeking the best way to create shoes that celebrate this special day. Starting in 2022, Kanae Ohbuchi, a designer at KEEN's Tokyo Design Center, has been releasing limited edition UNEEK designs each year. These designs are inspired by the mimosa, which is symbolic of women’s appreciation in Italy and is celebrated as Festa della Donna, also known as "Mimosa Day" . The bright yellow of the mimosa symbolizes strength and represents blessings for women.

This year, Kanae Ohbuchi created the third generation of the UNEEK MIMOSA. The light purple cords are inspired by the colors associated with the women's movement in the early 1900s in the UK, a symbol of justice. Additionally, the footbed features a mimosa flower design unique to the UNEEK MIMOSA series, and its bright colors are full of girly feeling.
